Vintage Wine and Food from Italy

A visit to Vinitaly 2010

without comments

Of Vinitaly 2010 I want to expose here the impression on the wines tasted from the region Trentino and Friuli.

Pinot Noir from Trentino, in order of my personal score:

8    – Castel Juva 2008 – Az. Agr. Unterortl –  lightly boisè, concentrated and tasty

7    – Abtei Muri Riserva 2007 – Tenuta Muri-Gries –  marked boisè tone but elegant

7    – Mazon Riserva 2007 – Tenuta J.Hofstatter –  intense, same as above

7    – Burgum Novum Riserva 2007 – Castelfeder – same as above

7    – Linticarius Riserva 2007 – Tiefenbrunner – same as above

6½ – Maso Reiner 2007 – Kettmeier

6½ – Matan 2007 – Ansitz Pfitscher

6½ – St. Daniel Riserva 2007 – Colterenzio Screckbichl

6½ – Sandbichler Riserva 2007 – H.Lun cantina Vini

6½ – Pinot Nero Riserva 2007 – Az. Agr. Stroblhof

6    – Mason 2008 – Manincor

6    – St. Valentin 2007 – Cantina S. Michele Appiano

I also loved the Pinot Grigio of Simon di Brazzan made with a long fermentation on the stalks and I found also very interesting the sweet Ramandolo passito of  Maurizio Zaccomer, like also his lovely sweet Piccolit.
